another week begins, gotta love the routine. 4:30 alarm. stretch. toilet. maybe some tea. short intention and gratitude practice. long asana practice. shower. more tea. drive five minutes. teach. finished by 10.
(and then...?)
it’s a slow start to this new week as this morning i wake and wish for more sleep... oops. again i didn’t get to bed early enough. at night it’s so easy to forget how quickly morning comes! we’ve had a couple of cloudy, rainy days here on kauai and when i stretch i feel the cold and damp in my bones: oh, brrr, ugh. the feeling brings back memories of scotland in my childhood and the way i could never seem to get warm there, that chill settling into my body and soul and feeling so permanent... but here it is different. i’ve been living for three months in this tropical garden paradise and know that even with wintery strings of cool, rainy days chilling the yurt (and occasionally making me wish for solid walls and windows), the sun is not far away. soon it will appear, warming the earth and making me forget everything but beautiful beachy bliss. i thank the universe for another day in this amazing life and get out of bed knowing that soon my practice will heat me up from the inside and burn away all that is sore or stiff. ahhh... looking forward to a good day and a great week ahead :)
WHAT DO VEGANS EAT?!? I get asked all the time, and as a new vegan I’m learning to prepare fresh, delicious food that’s beneficial for ME, for ANIMALS, and for OUR PLANET. Sustaining a nourishing plant-based diet will require being creative, conscious and conscientious in my food choices. Here I’ll share a “learn as I go” adventure on the path to healthy, happy, VIBRANT VEGANISM! Follow as my food evolution unfolds and maybe you’ll even be inspired to join me...
