Today was a little chaotic... Eagle’s friends who lived in our home before us have gotten their own new place and are moving out all the furniture and stuff we’ve been storing for them. I knew it was a lot of stuff but didn’t fully realize how much; it was almost like we moved but didn’t actually go anywhere! We packed our personal belongings out of their furniture and moved it all out... mattresses, bed, end table, desk, bookcases, kitchen table, chair, drawers, lamps, and, and, and... Wow! More work than I expected but it sure feels good to have a nice, open (somewhat empty) space of our own now :)
I start the morning with some Yogi detox tea.
(3/18/11 7:36 AM)
(...And I forgot to take a photo but had a quick little bowl of simple miso with seaweed before everyone arrived to move stuff.)
Lunch (3/18/11 10:15 AM)
Stiiiiiiiiiill moving stuff... Eagle makes a bowl of brown rice with shoyu and pumpkin seeds.
Afternoon Snack (3/18/11 3:10 PM)
And I sip on some Kombucha.
Afternoon Snack (3/18/11 3:14 PM)
Tonight Eagle and I head “South” to look for some inexpensive chairs to sit on until we get some furniture... It’s so funny how going anywhere off the North Shore of Kauai seems like a big field trip even though the entire island is only 33 miles long and 25 wide!
We stop at a mexican stand-up joint for a super-messy but delicious veggie burrito and a beer, and then continue on to join the masses in mindless consumerism at Home Depot and Walmart. Moving AND big-store shopping in one day? Ugh! Too much! After this, I want to stay home and be quiet for a while :)
(Dinner 6:30 PM)
WHAT DO VEGANS EAT?!? I get asked all the time, and as a new vegan I’m learning to prepare fresh, delicious food that’s beneficial for ME, for ANIMALS, and for OUR PLANET. Sustaining a nourishing plant-based diet will require being creative, conscious and conscientious in my food choices. Here I’ll share a “learn as I go” adventure on the path to healthy, happy, VIBRANT VEGANISM! Follow as my food evolution unfolds and maybe you’ll even be inspired to join me...
