Wanna peek? (this week’s grocery bag)

Today I hit the “big” Kapaa Farmer’s Market (big-ISH? ...nothing on this lovely little island is really very big) and stocked up on fresh, local, organic produce for the days to come. I also hit the “big”(ish) health food store and one of the “big”(ish) membership club-type stores. Wanna see what I got?

from the Kapaa Farmers’ Market (all local and organic!):
bag of kauai mountain apples
3 tomatoes
2 small bags cherry/grape tomatoes
bag of fresh turmeric root
3 big bunches curly kale
2 big bunches collard greens
2 bundles long beans
2 medium zucchini
1 bunch of fat carrots
cilantro
parsley
arugula
pineapple
broccoli
small redskin potatoes
purple sweet potatoes
arugula microgreens
cilantro microgreens
...and picked some lemons (from the yard)

and from other stores, the packaged stuff:
organic hemp seeds
organic nama shoyu
organic applesauce
black tea with mate
canned coconut juice (2)
soy-free earth balance
vegan cream cheese
almond dream ice cream
organic seaweed gomasio
organic black gomasio
wasabi powder
organic pizza sauce
organic garbanzo beans
organic whole wheat flour
organic 7-grain pancake mix
muesli
organic basmati rice
organic short grain brown rice (2)
organic vanilla soymilk
vanilla hemp milk (2)
plain hazelnut milk
chocolate hazelnut milk
pellegrino mineral water (2)

oh, and from the Kilauea Pharmacy:
a new ceramic neti pot
neti salt
mullein garlic compound ear oil

and refilled a few tanks of propane gas to keep the stove, dryer and hot water going in the yurt.

Wow! That was a lot of shopping, but it sure will be fun to prepare and enjoy loads of delicious food with all these new goodies. And I made it home just in time to catch the sunset :)

Aloha!
